My evil plan is beginning to work.  Bring your family to Dayton and I'll give you the "anti-sound problems" coad.

Other than that, sorry, can't help with this one.

 Killz,goto preferences,voice.

then move the "effects" slider to the left this will lower all sounds when vox is transmitted.

You may have to adjust it to suit your needs.

thanks bro this is a great temp fix

anyone know what might be going on with my sounds?

i have deleted my sounds and reinstalled my sounds as well and still nothing.

the only thing i have done is deleted my turtle beach sound card and enabled my on-board sound. i also down loaded the driver for my on-board sounds. when that didn't work i reinstalled my turtle beach card and driver for it and deleted my on-board sounddriver and disabled my on-board sound. that is all i have done

Ok, that starts making some sense now.  Run a DXDIAG and see how many sound card tabs there are.

VOX depends on networking.  Specifically UDP over NAT, if you are behind a NAT router.  It can also be impacted by firewalls.

sorry for the late reply i havent been on the game much just been real busy.

its not that there is not vox, they are talking just cant hear them over the loud engine sound. i goto game sounds and my engine sounds are all turned down to 0. i try to move the master sound bar to 0 and it has no effect on the sound.

could this be a crupted sound folder? ? ?

If you are using custom sounds, get rid of them and see if the problem persists.  Just rename the sounds folder to be free of custom sounds.

No custom sounds here and Turtle Beach Riviera card as well, same issues.  If I'm asleep at the stick, I can often HEAR a plane coming up my 6:00 it's so loud. :D  Not a bad thing... until as kilz notes, you want to hear folks around you.  GVs are obnoxious loud.

Kilz... question for you, do you hear the air raid sirens for around a sector and a half if you launch from a base "under attack"??  That is my biggest annoyance.
