I appreciate the feedback guys.  While I understand the whole "try to get back up as quick as possible to get the next wave."  Like a few of the guys said, just shows that some guys would rather just get easy kills by carpet bombing a spawn or town from 2k or running to the map room with his little .45 rather than try to fight it out as long as they can to see if they can stay up with 1 plane/GV.  I have also on occasion bailed a set of Buffs after a run (usually because my planes were FUBAR and impossible to get back...but when I re-up I will make my best effort to stay up.  I pride myself and my Squad on making it home every flight, kills or not, but like I said, if ya want to do that then hey.  Again, thanks for the feedback. :salute

Really? You don't see the humor in the .45? when the HOARD is at full erection the upping and being vulched, time and again is slightly tempered by barely getting to the maproom, of which you most likely had to fight your way all the way there, popping up to 800' bailing at the last moment usually from a riddled ride deploy the chute at the minimum alt, get to maproom and wait. If they do not strafe then the entire gaggle of hoardrool "which sounds like you were part of" is utterly defeated and the hangars are popping by this time, so I find it rather fulfilling and extremely comical and utterly ironic :aok  :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl   :bolt:

I have to say what is lame is the fact the other night I was in a spit 8 and found a 190 (not naming pilot) that had about 3k alt + E on me. I am thinking ok this is gonna be a good 1vs1 being neither of us had countryman anywheres around. Well he ended up diving on me and missed, which is cool I figured he would go back up and try again. Well after the first dive he proceeded to run. I chased him for about a half a sector. Well, realizing this guy didn't want a 1vs1. I got on channel 200 (I know I know) and starting talking crap to him to see if he would turn. Well, eventually he turned made a pass missed and proceeded to run. So I got on 200 again and repeated my talking. He turned back, but this time I was able to predict his route and cut him off. I ended up shooting him down. I think he logged after that. My point is I don't' mind being bnz'ed to much yes it sucks but at least they are fighting. I can't understand why ppl will run from a 1vs1 especially when they have all the advantages. I do understand the tactic of extending out and resetting the fight especially when ur in a plane which that is the best tactic, but it was clear that this guy did not want a 1vs1.

What's even funnier is that last night in the MW arena, the OP of this thread was talking smack to a P-51B driver that wouldn't fight him, calling him timid and such.  Funny thing is, the reason why the Pony driver wasn't fighting is that the OP had two wingmen flying with him.  Which makes this thread highly amusing and ironic, considiring who started this thread and the subject of bad game play.

10 years ago when I started it was far different. There were less people then, less bombers available, less GVs, and almost as many fighters  :P

The game was geared toward fighter combat more than anything else. There were base captures but squads went head to head to fight over them, and they changed hands back and forth all night. They reset the map on Tuesdays because most of the time nobody won the war all week but it was nice to see a different map each week.

Today its too much about winning the war, or capturing as many bases as you can on your "shift", or work your score. Fighting really gets in the way of those things.

That makes sense, I can see that there may have been a change over the last decade.  But over the last two years, I don't think much has changed.

Sometimes after clearing a town of GVs and there is another wave coming, it's quicker just to auger or bail out and get a new plane instead flying back and rearming.

The majority of my deaths in fighters is because I usually auger after the fight is over because I don't want to spend the time flying all the way back to my base and landing.  It's far quicker just to auger and get a brand new shiny plane.

The lowest thing I see in the mains is hordes rolling bases on one side of the map, then going to the other side, and continually switching back and forth.  It's impossible to put up a defense.  They roll your base the first time, you wait for a bit for the next giant red blob and you realize it's on the other side of the map, so you shrug it off, go do something else, and next thing you know half an hour later, the blob is back steam rolling your base.  You scramble to land and take off to fight it and it's too late by the time you get there.  Cycle continues.  Pathetic.

Ah you know your complaint thread has made it when The Fugitive has weighed in with his "the game was better 10 years ago" comments.

Very true. Yet people still rant and hope it proves to change something.

Me too. Saved many a base with this tactic, except when 3 loads of troops show up and the .45 only has 15 rounds.  :neener:

Ive played  a lot of on-line games and since they are 'games' there are allways people who will 'game the game" wether its right or wronge, fun or not , fair or not or lame or not they will allways do it and others wont its just something most on-line gamers have to learn to live with.  Those that 'bomb and bail' probably say the same of us that bomb and spend 35 minutes rtb lol. I personally don't like it but what can ya do.
