why did HTC get new sound???
My guess? There are reasons...
I'm thinking this will let them change some things that they've been wanting to do but couldn't due to limitations with the old sound engine? Some things I think going to Miles will allow them to do (not saying this is what they WANT to do) :
-- Separate Vox from Game Sounds (i.e. Vox in headset, game over speakers, if desired)
-- Ability to change the tone/reverb of sounds based upon if engine is attached to aircraft, attached to a different aircraft, inside cockpit or outside, all without recording separate sound files
-- Possible Doppler Shift effect
-- Possibility to integrate an MP3 player?
-- As a permanent fix for the occasional Vox dropouts (is this even still happening? Last I remember was like 2-3 years ago)
-- Support for sound file types other than mono-WAV files, which likely can help improve aural quality while reducing file size
Just a couple of thoughts as to why to make the change. There's a reason behind it, as I know they wouldn't spend their time making such an important change (which costs money to do), without having an idea as to what they are spending that money on.
