AH freezing
« on: May 15, 2010, 07:10:55 PM »
when ever i try to log out or close AH it simply freezes completely not like the mini-freezes BadEagl is describing (or it just may be my computers addiction to AH... :joystick:) also mid flight, only with the new patch has it started happening, so...

please HiTech peoples i know its hard to get it all right the first time and I hope I'm not asking for a miracle just saying...

If your screen "freezes" when you attempt to login to the online posrtion, that is usually your firewall blocking the game.

Bayland, try using Alt-F4 to exit the game.  I would like to get a DXDIAG from you.  Thank you.

HEy Skuzzy, I am experincing Screen freeze as well since last update. it occurs about every 15 mins or so. The whole computer locks up and I have to rebooot. I tried to uninstall and then reinstall game. Oh Boy. I had to use the alternate game dpwnload form the website as the primary does not have a link.

Now game wont install properly. I'm getting the folllowing error message.

"The file C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High\UNWISE.EXE" could not be opened. Please check that your disk is not full and you have access to the destination directory. Access is denied".

I disabled PcTools firewall  and got the same message. I'll include a dxdiag in support email. Please help.

Thanks,

John Hardage (EZRhino)

Something is very corrupted if the "UNWISE.EXE" file cannot be opened.

If you have an anti-virus with a firewall, and both WINDOWS and XXXXX anti-virus firewalls are up and running, this will cause this to happen. All I had to do was turn one off and allow AH2 through the one I kept on. Try this and see if it helps.

Edit: If you have an anti-virus, what kind? I've known some that were able to block AH2 even though it was cleared.

I know, I sometimes sound like a broken record..... but this stands out "screaming at me" ............( regarding the OS being used & the page file in use )

entirely too many processes running in the background, might want to clean up your system, I promise you you will see a significant increase in performance, boot up time, over all better PC operation.....

bet you are around 60 to 70 processes running in the background robbing your CPU power from the game.....
