But you can be sure, the guys that flew the bear cat on its first war cruise were WW2 pilots. It is a WW2 plane.
I guess the navy guys deciding to deploy them didn't know a nuke or two was going to end the war. Or they might have been sure air ferry some to the front.
The other plane so many Nancie's do not want in the game, the B29, kept the Bearcat and Tigercat from shooting down a few untrained japanese pilots so that everyone could come up with another excuse why the planes cant be in the game.
The Airacomet was deployed to a full fighter group in the States. Does that mean it belongs in the game as well?
HTC specified aircraft had to see combat to be added, and it's the RIGHT choice. It creates a DEFINITIVE dividing line between aircraft that belong in the game and aircraft that don't. As bad as requests for almost-made-its and obscure field mods and prototypes are already, the minute you let in a plane like the F8F you're just asking to open the floodgates.
It didn't see combat, it doesn't belong. That's a very simple, clear, and FAIR cutoff.
