I remember the 4 countries from Warbirds - Red, Green, Gold, and Purple.   It was kindof fun to have more countries (supposedly they all had unique personalities), but what happens is the two neighboring countries gang up on the smallest country.  I think HTC went with 3 countries to try to eliminate the imbalance problems with 4.

For a game called Aces High though, I've always thought 4 countries - Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, and Clubs would be more appropriate than Chess pieces...




Yeah, only problem then is you'd have 300 spades :aok

There's a generational thing at work as well.  Back in late '90's there was a air sim game that began in mid-flight and each rounded lasted about 2 mins or so.  The point was to shoot the other guy down.  It did not hold my interest for 15 mins.

Games that do not settle the matter with some winning and some losing are pointless.  However, amongst the young, that is not the case.
