I recently bought one of these after several posts recommending it.

It works great with the new Sennheisser headset I have.

There really isn't a specific specification to look for, since I don't think you can get one without their own processor and memory.

Actually most sound cards out today offload to your system's cpu with the exception of Sound Blasters and the Xonar.  There could be a few others that run dedicated sound processors that don't rob from your system but they are few and far between with the exception of the aforementioned cards.  I believe the worst ones are the onboard chips and the USB headphone/soundchip combo types.

All the Best...

Good to know. I haven't been in the market for a few years.

I've just ordered that set of Sennheisser headphones to go w/ my Xonar as these Logitech Live Chat USB units are causing issues when I fly now due to my new EVGA GTX 470 SC vid card is loading up my C2D E8600 CPU to the hilt--even OC'd to 4.0Ghz.

Flying on the Xonar--no issues. On the USB headphones AH will lock up due to sound getting out of synch when the graphics scenes get heavy. Can't have that!

Thanks for posting that link Uvsi!
