I have a soft spot for those who go in harms way and the families who sacrafice so much supporting them...FOR US...

When a local NG unit rolled into town at our transit hub via bus about 10 months ago at 3:30 in the morning I was their to welcome them...I didn't know any of them...I had just heard through the grape vine they were coming home.

It was an amazing experience and one I will remember and cherish the rest of my life...

I live in a "hate the military" community...where soldiers on active duty are allowed to not wear the uniform at times to avoid confrontation...it was not an accident their 'homecoming' occurred in the wee hours of the morning..

How those family members must have felt to see their loved ones home to suprise them  :salute
