Well I have the 5850 with the eyefinity, but I only use one monitor with it, as I lack two more to make a full setup.  The card however, is fantastic.  I run with everything turned all the way up, every last thing, and shadowing on and smoothed to 4k.  It's beautiful that way.  I can't help you with a multi monitor report at all however.

If you want to run 3 display setup then you'll need some serious GPU power. Two HD5850's at least.

Thanks for the replies..I'm going ot post this in the Harware problem area , but I had a problem with the HD5770 XTX card..
I picked it up for $169.00..I installed the Card, powered up and Nothing!...No MOntior, no keyboard..
I put back my old X800 card and everything Ok....I did check that the HD5770 needs 450W PS, I only have a 300W..
I'm going to replace the PS and see what happens...

Make sure you check the 12 volt rail that's where the power for the vid card comes from. If your not sure ask here before you spend more than you need or get wrong parats again.

Gotcha,,The PS that they recommend is a min. of 450W with a seperate 6-pin PCIe Power..There are a few available locally that I can pick up and try..I got a note back from XFX and they are sure thats its the PS being only 300W..
I have a Tower form factor but noticed that the form Factor of the 550W is a ATX..hoping that isnt a problem..
I dont plan on using the Cross Fire right now..I'm going to upgrade to a Better Mobo-processor combo and will consider the cross fire package there.

You need a 750W, or better, power supply or you are going to have problems.

Now, power supplies will not deliver 100% of the power they are rated for.  The new game in ratings is to rate the amount of power the supply will actually dissipate rather than supply.  That rating now includes power that is dissipated via heat.  For instance, a 750W power supply ,with an efficiency rating of 80%, will actually deliver 600W using the new marketing approved rating system.

Switching supplies will only deliver clean power up to about 75 to 80% loads.  After that, the power starts getting dirty.  It WILL shorten component life if you overload the power supply.

75% of 600W = 450W

Even if the power supply supplier (not many manufacturers left) is honest about the actual power delivered you still only get 562.5W from a 750W power supply.

You really have to be mindful of what you are buying today.  The marketing of power supplies is getting rather cheesy.  Higher quality companies usually make good solid claims, but companies using cheesy marketing numbers outnumber the honest ones.  Just read the very fine print on the box.  They still have to state if they are being cheesy with the numbers.
