P-51D 1/48 Old Crow Die Cast
« on: May 31, 2010, 10:07:28 PM »
Does anyone know of any good 1/48 Old Crow diecasts? I've found plenty of good models, but, as surprising as it sounds, haven't found a decent diecast yet. Thanks in advance.  :salute

Franklin Mint has both a 1/48th Scale 51D Old Crow and 51B Old Crow.    I'm not real impressed with their D model, but the B looks decent.  Just saw one at a Hobby Store locally a couple weeks ago.

The B Model which seems to have more accurate lines.

Quick check comes up with the D model on E-Bay.  45 bucks, buy it now.  Not bad for price.  The Armour Franklin Mint D model has some shape issues but I think it's the only game in town in 1/48th for Old Crow

One signed by Anderson.  195 bucks.

Never was a fan of the Franklin Mint's D pony, like Dan said the B looks good the D is just off.

That being said I have heard that Franklin Mint will not be producing anymore aircraft so if you find one you like you might want to grab it.

Thanks. Saw the D model yesterday. but wasn't impressed. That B model looks sharp, though, so I think i'll go with it. :salute

Yeah unfortunately if you want good stuff you are going to have to pay for it.  Pity me I collect and play miniatures that the oh so nice company is raising the prices again.
