AH2 Stops Responding...1st Sortie, every damn time.

Like the title says, every 1st sortie, any time I log on....  I fly for awhile just fine, no issues, no warps, no problems then wham, I get the black screen of "Aces High has stopped responding".  Gotta open the task manager to get the dialog box closed and relog.  Never happens again, just the first sortie every time I log on.  Within 30 minutes, it always happens.  You guys have my information as far as my system is concerned.  Is there somewhere that logs the error that I can send?  This is getting aggravating to say the least.  I do have the autofilm on but have emptied the films folder to no avail; it still does it every first sortie.  Doesn't matter what I'm in either.  Any ideas?

Anyway, my sys info is:

Pentium i7 2.67 G
6 Gig DDR3 Ram
500 Gig HDD
GTX 285 Video Card
Direct X 10
Vista 64 bit.

Dx Diagnostic performed, no problems found but sending both (32 and 64 bit).

Happened again, only this time, I got an error message saying that the video driver had a problem and reset itself.  I had the NVIDIA 9107 (IIRC) latest drivers installed.  I just rolled it back to the previous version...we'll see what happens.

Same (sort of) problem here with my GTX 285.

I've noticed that when the card drops it core clock (to save power i assume) and then ramps the core back up when the game gets intense, that I crash to desktop (display drivers stopped working).
I typically go from Core of 300 back to 648 with a 100% GPU usage spike when this happens.  If we could force the core to stay at 648, this would not be a problem....
