I don't quite follow you. How do you REALLY feel

?
Sounds like your subconcious is telling you to get your bellybutton in a tank, and improve your skills

. IMO, skill at tanking comes down to three things, in order of importance of course:
Use of cover and concelment
Gunnery
Use of terrain and movment
If the other guy gets to 100yds, your gunnery doesn't matter since you'll have the crosshairs on him. Find a nice thick clump of trees, hide in them, and wait for them to come to you. The only way you can learn what makes good cover is practice.
Gunnery will help you in long range engagments, and when you need to quickly get the range on someone. On a good day, I won't miss a single shot out to 1600yds, while on a bad day it will take me 5 shots to get the range at 800yds. Pushing your head position all the way forward (except in the M4's, as it doesn't really help, and just screws up the ranges) will help, and practice untill you can kind of "feel" the range. I don't use the range marks, I just look at a tank and think
that looks like its around 12 (12 being 1200yds on the range marks).
Use terrain as much as you can. Fight from the high ground whenever possible, and don't blow all the time you spent climinbing that hill just to get one kill. Use the burms to get hull down, and cover your movments. Again, practice is about the only thing that will help.
There ya go, now you're all set. Then again, I'm the one telling you this, so likely its a formula for suicide

.
