Any of you right leaning 2A guys every play with Tannerite?

Tannerite is a commercially available (legal in all 50 states) mixture of compounds that when contained, and then struck by a high-velocity rifle round, sets off a binary chain reaction producing a localized and rapidly expanding gas/pressure envelope.... aka explosion/boom...

Just curious...

Tons of fun and a truly "reactive target"...

Saw them being sold at a gun show in Colorado last year but due to my limited time in the state I didn't purchase any.  Had I been able to attain any in Alaska, however, it would have been a much different story :t

My tannerite thread from a few months ago got locked though. to many animal lovers here i suppose....

i buy about 120 pounds a year. we have what i call a boomer shoot. we stuff them in stuffed animals or pumpkins and shoot them. its fun to watch them explode. the largest ive ever set off was 3.5 lbs. it set off every car alarm within a mile of the gun club.

You can buy it at cabelas.

I saw it for the first time recently during a trip to the range. A guy set it up at 200 yards, and was shooting it with his scoped M4 type rifle. It took him several attempts, which was making me want to try to hit with my Mosin 91/30. But after about 6 rounds he nailed it and it was a brilliant flash and super boom.

Great fun.

This stuff is really fun.  I have 3 pounds left in my basement.

Doesn't start fires, and it's safe to store, transport and handle.

Anyone wants to come shoot some, just let me know!
