Can no longer go online with new version

Hi, i just installed the newset verion, via upgrade first then full install, either way my machine locks up when selecting online arenas, every time (winxp home)

This sounds like your firewall is blocking us.  A lot of firewalls will reset when AH updates and you need to reallow AH access to the internet. 

This problem is why we're going to the windowed startup.  With a windowed startup you get to see the firewall dialog box asking you if you want AH to access the internet.

no, its ot the firewall thing, i have to re allow that with every version, but you have now updated that version once again and now i can get in

Same here, Just goes black and then minimizes itself. when I click on the minimized menue item, goes black again and then minimizes again.

Not the firewall here either, I dont have one installed on this machine.

Well, if it's not a firewall thing then both of you should post DXdiag info so they can take a look.

It is possible the firewall database has become corrupt.  Completrely delete aceshigh.exe from the firewall databases then add it back in.

If the game is minimizing upon startup, that is a sign your computer has a virus or spyware or malware running on it.

lol, its always someone elses fault with programmers, never mind, i should have figured, again, your new version now works, strange how that is, musta been the way i was holding my mouth

Never said it was anyone's fault.  It is not about fault, but about trying to fix a problem you were having.

Just made a suggestion on what to try.  If this had been a game issue, I am pretty sure we would have several hundred complaints by now.  It was just a logical step in a debugging process.

Deleting and re-installing worked well for me, Everything fine now.

I had a problem also trying to login online. I did find that my firewall was blocking AH (ZoneAlarm 9.2) Manually forced it to allow AH and all was fine.
People need to listen to Skuzzy!!!

My problem is...when i got to log in online it crashes.  It works fine for offline.

Edit: Have reinstalled. No joy.

Edit: Deleting my settings folder for aces high seems to have allowed me to log in...

If you ever experience an abnormal crash/exit of the game, there is always a chance a game settings file can get corrupted, especially if you are running any type of anti-virus or file security type software.

The only cure for this is to remove or rename the 'settings' folder in the game installtion directory.
