This is why every cop should carry a taser. Right when she put her hands on him he could have stepped back and put her down. That whole time he was fighting with her left him exposed to attack from any of the other suspects. One of them could have easily took the officers weapon and shot him. The headline could have read "Officer slain in Seattle streets" instead the cop was very lucky he didn't get jumped or worst just because some people don't know how to act like grown ups.

That cop did remain very calm.  Kudos to him for a good job.

I thought he showed great restraint in a dangerous situation.  Judging from his actions before and after the punch, it seems like his intention was to regain control of the situation, rather than just inflict harm.  I hope the investigation is a brief one, and he gets a pat on the back.

I think he actually meant "for all tints and porpoises", mainly because that cop was going to whack that snotty byatch even if she was white and because porpoises are smart enough to cause trouble - just not jaywalking.

That particular stretch of road is congested with heavy traffic and there is a pedestrian bridge right there anyway.  Local businesses have been complaining about all the illegal street crossings and the cop was in fact warning one male pedestrian about the illegal crossing when another group, including the accused, crossed over right in front of the officer and then dismissed his reqest that they come over to his location.  Thats what started the whole scenario.  Dont like the law then change it...do not break it.
