Screen Freeze Sound Related?
« on: June 22, 2010, 02:54:24 AM »
Seems to have been a problem for awhile now.  I can't be absolutely sure, but I think it's related to sound, most noticeable when firing guns the first time in any given flight (but not always, naturally).  I'll just be getting into a good fight, squeeze the trigger and there it is, about a 1 or 2 sec screen freeze, it's hard to recover from.  I've noticed it with other sounds as well... always that "first time" per flight.

Don't think it has anything to do with the new sound system as it was happening before that update.... I took a break for quite awhile, came back a few months ago and it was happening (same system) where a year ago it was not.

Any suggestions? (I do run allot of custom sounds.... but again, not a problem before).

Get rid of the custom sounds and try it to see what happens.

Turn your hardware accelerator down to 3/4. Use Dxdiag.

Will try the custom sound problem.

Since this may well be the problem (been thinking about it).... is there a fix?  I like the sounds, makes things less boreing.

Acceleration already tried.
