logs on ahevents site
« on: June 19, 2010, 01:26:19 PM »
Gents,

The hosting site for ahevents.org backs up their site Friday nights, the same time we try to run the FSO logs. Consequently it causes problems. Logs are not complete, errors, or on our end they just hang and we have to delete and try all over again. Until this is resolved plan on viewing the logs later Saturday night or even Sunday morning. Like many of you I want to view the logs first thing Saturday morning and often do while sipping my coffee, so I know it is disappointing.

I will be calling them Monday to see what can be done.

My apologies for the inconvenience.

Logs are up. forHIM managed to do it.
He and 68Lurch are looking at a couple things that could be the problem, and I am dealing, (with their help) the CPU throttling that is going on.

The one thing that still sticks out is Sperky's death.....  Doesn't show who killed him.

Quote from: EventLogs
Sperky:
21:54:48 Departed from Field #34 in a Fw 190F-8
22:37:08 Was shot down by .

I think in the past, if one of those time warp / paradox / unknown situation / server glitch occurred it would say "##:##:## Was shot down by (Unknown Enemy)."  Or something or other like that.  Similar to "##:##:## Vanished without a trace."    But only if a server error occurs......

Maybe with the new setup it isn't translating correctly?

Sometimes you have to run a search (-> edit, -> find, in Firefox) to find it, in this case Gear shot Sperky down.

Gear

22:37:01 Shot down a Fw 190F-8 flown by Sperky.

22:41:20 Was shot down by tuk151 (crashed).

I was going to mention that as well... Any idea on what causes this issue?

I also noticed there is a new Death type (exploded)  :D

How is that determined?
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Nefarious the only thing I've ever seen that's seems constant with this problem is when there is a discrepancy in time stamps between the attacker and victim. I don't know that it causese it but I have not found an instance when the time stamps where the same and it happened.

for example,

If you look at Gear in the logs he was credited with the kill on Sperky at 22:37:01

However, if you look at Sperky it says he was shot down at 22:37:08

So I'm not sure where the 7 second discrepancy come from but when I looked at this problem (in the raw logs for a different situation) the discrepancy was in the raw logs.

On the other topic, I believe that the exploded death, is due to an instant pilot kill now.

Exploded is in the raw logs -- which messed Lurch up a bit as we were looking for the old message.

Baumer nailed the other.  Basically if the raw logs don't show who killed sperky on sperky's death entry, we cannot / don't go figure it out.

When this new explosion happens(near the cockpit which shows the pilot is dead), could it be the time that the plane takes to descend from the sky and hit ground?
