As a player, I don't care what side wins. To top it off, nothing is more irritating than a CO that would rather 'game the game' and rack up as much point as he can at the expense of fun.

Not to embarrass Fencer, but in the middle of DGS I remember Fencer saying, "I know this plan will fail, but I know my bomber guys in group X (I forget the squad designation) need to have a good time. It will cost us the scenario, but that doesn't matter to me."

Sometimes failing is even a great thing... in that same scenario, the 474th's P38s escorted a buff group to the primary, the secondary and then the tertiary target; all of them had 10/10 cloud cover. I personally landed with 6 gallons of gas and went dry on taxiing to the hanger. After all that, there was complaining about us moving slightly out of the normal operating area because of the wind at that altitude pushed the bombers off course.

This new set up with pre-arranged orders is a new thing, I'm curious how it will work out.

It reminds me of when the Axis Ju88s carpet bombed one of the Allied bases in frame 4 of TFB. It had no effect on helping us win the event but it was alot of fun for us buff pilots who got to do something different. Who knows maybe General Fudgey will allow me to carpet bomb a Japanese airfield for the hell of it. Eighteen B25's dropping 54 x 100lbs bombs across a runway can be fun to watch.  :D

I like it when players and commanders come together and launch an attack that could cost them the event but do it so that everyone has fun and creates some good memories / friendships. I think some people forget that your enemy this scenario could be your wingman in the next one and no win is worth the loss of good friends.

I like the idea of the prescripted Scenario-at least to try it. Given that it will be based more on a pilot's skills in his plane of choice, which most would pick their strong suit-IMHO.  My particular skill, being non-existant,   :) leaves me in a fine pickle. What plane do I sacrifice myself in this time!   :x

It all comes down to- {....if the plane set is mostly accurate and the missions are properly executed} -pilot skill, teamwork (the main goal of a Scenario), communications, execution of orders, and a bit of luck. I will have to look at it more closely now to see which side I wish to hang my sabre.

To me, Scenarios are like sex.  The worst I have ever had was "terrific"   :rofl  (I cleaned that up a bit...)
