Bringing History Alive..
« on: July 10, 2010, 08:56:00 PM »
I have lots of catch phrases I throw out once in awhile.  It amuses me and sometimes it even sums up a situation perfectly.

My new favorite one is "It's about the pilots, then and now."  More on that in the coming months.

However I want to share with both sides of this current event the following link.  I hope it brings something to you about the people who flew in the war, and their connection with their own families here at home.

This is about one pilot of the 348th Figther Group, in the Pacific in 1944.  Enjoy everyone, especially you Stoney.  Start at the bottom of the page.

The names of the irrelevant have been changed to protect their irrelevance.
The names of the innocent and the guilty have not been changed.
As for the innocent, everyone needs to know they are innocent –
As for the guilty… they can suck it.

Great find!  Thanks for posting that, I'm reading my way through them all right now.

The last time I went to visit my grandmother when she was alive, she brought out an old shoebox with all my dad's letters he had written her from his two tours in Viet Nam.  I don't know what happened to them, but I still treasure having gotten to read them.  Letters open up an entire window into people that you never knew existed.  These are the same.  Thanks again for posting them.
