This is one of those stupid questions but.....
Where do I put the check six sound to make it work in game?
My sound pack is a mix of several different ones so its not like any of the ones that you can download off these BBS so I'm a little confused here.
Thank you in advance
It's usually a naming issue.
As mentioned, AH uses the "sounds" folder. If you put different "sounds" folder into your Aces High folder, it'll still use the default "sounds" folder, unless you rename the default to something other than "sounds". I use "sounds1" or "soundsA". You then need to make sure your new sound folder is named "sounds" so it'll work in the game.
The same rule applies for any individual sound within the sounds folder. Many custom sound packs come with several different options for many sounds. The check6 and stall are good examples of that. The game plays the sound called "check6". The other options for that sound will probably be named "check6 1", or "check6 2", etc... The game won't use those, because they're not named "check6".
Renaming the default "check6" to something else, and then renaming the desired sound to "check6" allows the game to use the new sound.
It's also worth noting that you can't make those changes while the game is running in the background. You need to re-start the game for the sound changes to take effect.
Some individual planes also have some of those sounds within their own folder. That's why the German planes may use one check6 version, while the American or Japanese planes may use another. You'd need to adjust each plane to the desired version, or delete or rename the undesired sound to allow the desired sound to work.
For example, if you scroll through your sounds, and have the desired sound named correctly, it won't work for the 109K4 if the 109K4 folder has a different check6 version within it.
