Anyone know of a good air race (Red bull) sim.?

Was just wandering if there was a good sim for the red bull air racing?
the only thing i found was  played on the keypad.
if not, maybe something close.

Theres a Sasafras Race in the SEA Event. Its with RV-8's. Have you looked into it?

Hey WWhiskey, I run the SASFRAS on every 2nd Sunday of the month in the SEA 1. It is a RV-8 race with custom tracks. Right now I am on monthly themes, like Fathers day, Mothers day, even had a Valentines Day run.  You will find more info at this website http://ahevents.org/events/hms.html, and

SASFRAS stands for   Super Agile Super Fast Racing Aircraft Series.  We have run 10 races and the times for a track are around 1:30 to 2:10.  The standard track setup is an old way I tried to keep the tracks the same but it got old real fast. I still use elements from it though & have designed custom tracks each 2nd Sunday.

Mainly what set this racing up is the fire pylons.  Since HTC doesn't have a way to deploy racing pylons, I have found ways to use the fires of hangars
& other structures to simulate them.  When set to a extra long downtime, the fires will be lit for a long time.  The initial problem is with the smoke. It
kills frame rate, but that is solved by staying in the arena for around 10-15 mins for the smoke to dissipate, then the fire stays.


I usually start practice & parade laps around 6pm EST and get those that feel confident bracketed up by 6:45pm EST to start the race at 7pm EST.

Did you tried the BGE_AirRace yet?

It has a real life Barcelona Red Bull Air Race track (1.5:1 scale).

Also the air-gate entries are recorded individually: speed, split time, attitude & altitude.
The maximum G-forces are recorded between air-gates as well.

The penalties are calculated accordingly. No guessing with result.


Of course the one man team can't get the GUI, graphics & flight model to the Aces high level, but those are reviewed.... Well, slowly
