He hasnt been here very long, and just was making a "wish" in the "wishlist" forum. No need to flame him, so what if he is 12? He pays his 15 dollars a month just like you do.

Why flame him...

He started 5 or so threads "wishing" for aircraft to be added to the game - many of which are already here.  His "wishlist" was nothing more than a paste from a Wikipedia list and no research whatsoever.   I don't care if you're young or old; show that level of laziness and you're screaming "flame me".

So, in order to prevent this person from posting, you take it on yourselves to post in an abusive and derogatory manner?  Hmmm.  Just what personal reason causes you to think it is an attack on you?  Why bother responding at all?  Do you just see it as an oppertunity to rationalize derogatory behavior?

I am not sure who is worse here.  The original poster, or the crowd than pokes him with a stick.  You know, the OP may be 12 (I really do not know, nor do I care), but those of you who posted in a an abusive/derogatory manner are not acting like you are any older than that.

It would do a lot of you some good to just quit reading the wish threads if all you are going to do is complain/flame one new chap who doesnt know how to use the search button or forgott to use it.  9/10 topics I see here on the front page have been posted once before, who cares these type of post are what help keep topics brought to the forefront and what makes up this community, so come on give the gent. a little respect.   :bolt:

I just dont see what purpose they would serve.
I mean it would be fun to hit one with my SBD while its up  :devil
But it would only be usefull in cv vs cv situations

And of course its speed is terrible

If CV groups were modeled to go the actual speed they went at...
and we had 3D water...
and game physics were changed...
and water depth pressure was mapped...
and we had driveable DDs for Anti-Sub warfare...
and we had depth charges...
and for realism add waves...
then i'd see no problem with having a nice Gato or U-Boat. I'd love some Silent Hunter action in AH. :aok

First is the whole water problem.

Second is the time issue, bad enough with GV's that move at 20+ mph.
Sub's submerged moved at 4 - 6 mph.

Third is the fun one, how the heck do you model sonar?
And yes it has to be modeled on both sides in order to have an effective sub.

Boxed games use time compression for #2, canned response's for #3.
Neither of which will work well for AH.

I could be wrong, but as I see it those are just the first 3 biggest problems.
Then you have to somehow model a periscope, slow down the Task groups, deal with refueling, rearming issues. (or the task group can run at 40 knots endlessly)

Its a big job, and I suspect HT has a limited amount of time to "play" with it.
