Now beef it up on the spar and go do this. Ive seen the Olys do very well upwards of 200 MPH..

If I lived in or near an area I could do that I would.
However, for now anyway, I'll be limited to thermal soaring. Not that I mind thermal soaring, I love it! The challenge of long duration flights with no motor involved is addicting to me. I can get some good ridge lift along the Mississippi, but it's a two hour drive each way...
When I lived in Missoula I did a LOT of ridge soaring, and honestly it's my favorite. The dynamic soaring aspect is very alluring as well, but not very easy or "fantastic" around here. Nobody (other than the turkey vultures) was doing dynamic soaring back when I was in MT. I'm in flat farm country now, 18 hours east of Missoula.
If I get an opportunity to hit the ridges again, I'll beef up the spar with carbon fiber. I chose not to on this wing though.
