Back in the stone age I used to repair F4s <Phantoms not Corsairs or Wildcats>.  We had a log that detailed
the maintenance writeups for years on our birds.  We only had 24 total and not all were mission capable.  The dar
guys had it pretty easy.  We could fix most writeups in about 2 hours using fresh parts or basic electronic repair.

The poor SOBs who worked the engines had to take 4 hours just to replace one.   That's assuming there was a spare
J-79 for them to R and R.  It's a whole lot easier to just get a new magical plane by towering.  As you get further along
in your AH "career" the attaboys from landing kills won't mean as much to you as they do now.  At least from my
experience.  Been doing this kind of stuff since 1990-1, been so long I forget :)

Your car is in a wreck.  Repair it or get a new car?  Cost is the same.  The only difference would be time.

For a tank maybe, for a plane, not worth the trouble. Tower out and replane takes 3 seconds, repair could to 1 to 5 minutes (and people will whine regardless of the time).

How long would you be willing to wait for "repairs"?

:furious Seriously, when are you people going to stop asking for a repair hangar???, it's simple. Tower out and get a new plane, not that hard! It only takes a few seconds, if you have kills and your plane is busted up pretty badly, just land! Might as well land something when you can then nothing.

Say your going for 20 kills in a plane when you get to 10 you get your engine oil shot you have to go back and land and you have to end sortie because theres no repair pad.

Yes some fair points here but realy as far as aircraft go Nah Nah in reality if your plane was severily damaged it got taken away by road to Glasgow and got either made into a new MkV or upgraded to a MkIX Spit the same with alot of american planes too. Then they got sent back to the line. Or if they beyond all repair ground crews would use them as donor aircraft to keep the good one's in the air.

But a repair pad for GV's would be very handy as would a rearming and refuel pad.

I can just see it you run out o ammo whilst protecting your GV base from the air and then you land and re arm at GV base to save time lol :lol

Then you have failed and must start over with a new plane.  The idea is to not get shot in the first place.

Maybe you're not aiming high enough?

you mean we can select how many kills we want to get and the game has to accommodate us?  crap no wonder I never make the top fighter, I never select how many kills I want to get at the beginning.
