Nemisis  TA, lead computing gunsight on for half an hour (control tab to enable, point gunsight at target, hit tab again to lock)

While there work on ACM while your at it.

If you ask nicely you might even get someone to up a hvy bomber to let you shoot at.
If you do concentrate on setting up for high/low 3-9 line passes.

OK, took about a week vacation from AH, and my gunnery skill dropped to the point of irrelevancy. I can't get it back up to par, any tips besides shooting the offline drones?

If taking a week off made your gunning sub par and irrelevant. Maybe it was already sub par and irrelevant to begin with.

I think this is what you tell other people in the forums Nemisis..

My gunnery wan't what you would call 'great', but I could still hit a non manuvering target at D1000 without TOO much trouble. But now I'm strugeling to hit targets doing token efforts to evade a D600 (couldn't hit Brentlo's K4 with my 190 at D600. And he was mostly trying to extend)

The reason why you weren't a good shot to begin with is your taking shots at 1,000 yards away.  You're wasting about 90% of your ammunition in those kind of shots with very little likelihood of scoring a kill or significant damage.  If you did do any damage or got lucky enough for a kill is because you more likely then not, scored a Golden BB hit.

The only way you're going to improve is to practice.  I know you like to have your hand held and provided with some "trick" you can use that will instantly make you a better shot but it's not going to happen.  You're going to have to work at it to become better.

I'm asking to see if there is anything such as the LCS (never knew it existed untill now). Some good at least came out of this thread.

And Ack-Ack, I feel your going to start tearing into me, so please either be nice, or leave.

Yep, I suggest taking your plane up lots at furball lake in the Duelling Arena.

That's how I get the most practice in my ride in the shortest time prior to a scenario.

It also greatly depends on what you are flying.  I've found the tempest and typhoon to be fairly easy to land hits with.  It also really depends on flying style, and how you personally set up your shots, in terms of deflection.  So i would recommend trying several planes and see which ones yield better results for you.

Ackacks right on the money. If your wasting your time shooting out past 800 you never will improve.

The key is to learn ACM to learn how to get in close, saddle up. Once he's tried everything in his box to throw you and your still there eventually your going to have a 2-300 yard shot where one good burst will rip him to shreds.

Shooting beyond 400 your just wasting ammo. The exception is to pop a short burst of mg's to try to freak him out
enough to make him  turn.

Get in close, then when you think its time to shoot, get in closer.
