OK, read your post (the 8th down on the first page) and then correct me <S> DeViouS

Sound was changed because, eventually, they are going to add so many individual sounds that there will be too many to adjust.

The Miles System uses less resources but it was not chosen to compensate for low end computers.

Yes, all must bow to the deity AKAK  :rofl.

Seems you have a short memory.

Then Ill attack your whine you sniveling dweeb. Since you admit your immaturity above.

You can not even understand the basic concept that war simulation and aircraft simulation are 2 completely different concepts.

Not only that your premises of Zero's and p-51s fighting is again incorrect, you have every opportunity to fly AvA.

So grow up and ask for what you really want. I.E. you want bombers to be easier to kill because you are not skilled enough to be up to the task.

I can't find it in my DxDiag

Look at your DXDiag and scroll down until you see the Sound Devices section, it will look like below:

-------------
Sound Devices
-------------

Description: SB X-Fi Audio [EC00]
Default Sound Playback: Yes
Default Voice Playback: Yes
Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0005&SUBSYS_00311102&REV_00
Manufacturer ID: 1
Product ID: 100
Type: WDM
Driver Name: ctaud2k.sys
Driver Version: 6.00.0001.1373 (English)
Driver Attributes: Final Retail
WHQL Logo'd: No
Date and Size: 6/4/2009 02:47:14, 526232 bytes
Other Files:
Driver Provider: Creative

The bolded line, Description will tell you the model of your sound card.  The other bolded line, Driver Provider will tell you the manufacturer.  So in the example above, I am using a Creative X-Fi sound card.

You can also find out which sound card you have by looking in the Device Manager in Windows, in the Sound, Video and Game Controllers section.

To get to the Device Manager:
1. Right click on My Computer
2. Click on Properties
3. Click on the Hardware tab
4. Click on Device Manager
5. Scroll down to Sound, Video and Game Controllers and click on the + to expand the branch

so wrongway, will they be getting "M2/hispano hit" and "MG151/20 hit" as opposed to "20mm hit"?

And I'm sorry but AKAK can't really tell us whats coming out of our headsets, wrongway.

One other minor issue I noticed flying the Mossie:  when firing guns, hit the look back view and the gun sound gets a lot quieter.

"As someone that is a tad more familiar with the Miles Sound System than you are, I am not wrong about the benefits of using Miles for those with low end sound cards or onboard sound.  Why don't you read about how it works?"

My PC is quite old.
But I think that AH cannot run on a Commodore 64!

And it works BAD!

That's the direction I imagine they are going.

Crickets chirping.  Sheep screaming.  Bullets hitting concrete or aluminum.  Tires or Treads on dirt or pavement.  The possibilities are limitless.

AKAK the problem is not that suddenly everybody's sounboard/drivers/headset took a crap.  Miles is a way better system, but we are having too many problem with individual sounds and that it is really ridiculous.  Instead of getting your usual "you guys are idiots and I know more than you"  attitude, let people write about the problems we are having, It's got nothing to do with our systems and yes we know that AH is working on it, but still it is so darn frustrating so please just cut out the attitude.

I've had to track down a multitude of sound issues in games over the years, especially with Soundblaster sound cards which I ran exclusively until my last system build. Regardless of what some are thinking, the switch to the Miles sound system is not a step backwards, nor is it intended to make the game more compatible with older systems, or onboard sound chips.

You might want to pay heed to what Ack-Ack is saying.

If everyone who is having a problem would list their sound cards with driver versions, you might notice a trend.

Ok, The bottom line is that there is no reason I shouldn't be able to turn the deafening sound on the M8 when it is in motion. I see and understand where they are going with the sound and applaud the switch but that is ridiculous. I'm sorry but you aren't going to justify that. At least allow the ability to adjust vehicle and plane sounds then. That would sure be nice  :aok <S> DeViouS

Agreed. Possibly add two categorys: "vehicle sounds" and "aircraft sounds". Upon clicking them, it takes you to a sound slider board.

For vehicles, "track", "tires", "engine", "weapons fire", "tracks (ext)", "Tires(ext)", "engine (ext)", and "weapons fire (ext)"  (ext meaning external).

For aircraft, they could have "engine", "flaps", "stall buzzer", "gear", "weapons", and "engine (ext)", "weapons (ext)".
