When I play back film of a f4u fight i notice if i look from the other guys plane I can see through most of the parts that would normally be in the way.
the front view that shows up you can only see part of the engine cowling and prop and a few edge pieces the rest is clear.
Also when you look out the back you see just a section of the tail every thing else is clear.
One more thing I shot of half the other guys wing and he still flew away faster than me, ( I could not catch him ) and he had no noticeable decrease in maneuverability.
