HTC, vastly improved sound from the initial release.
Still a few quirks I noticed:

Stall buffet, flaps are barely audible relative to the other sounds.  If these 2's defaults could be raised 75-100% that would be awesome.

Also, relative volumes compared to Vox are still out of whack Imo.  I have to turn everything way down low to have Vox volume at the appropriate level.

question.. should you even be able to hear flaps?

might be a realism/game compromise, but in the real life prop planes i most recently flew on, a c172 and b17 in particular, You cannot hear the flaps operating while in flight. maybe a little rumble once full flaps in the 172, but you dont hear the electric motors over the engine noise.  i was riding in the back of the b17 when landing, and couldn't hear those either.. in fact, only way I could tell they were down was by looking out the window.

The only reason I'm guessing people need flap sound, is because when they hear them go down a notch each time, they actually know what they'll be doing best in combat. Like with a p-51 i have to hear flaps click 2 times, or i won't know how far their down, no flap sound will leave me wondering if their too low, or not low enough, this will happen threw the whole dogfight. So yeah i think sound is pretty much needed if your used to this kind of flap sound click thingy  :D.

But, realism is always approved !  :x

I tried to find hidden sound volume settings to see if that'll work to fix things.  C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II\settings (* your installation folder may vary) holds configuration files, and the file "sndgrp.cfg" appears to hold the slidebar values in the screenshot that gyrene81 posted.  Also found in that folder is a "sounds.cfg" file, but unfortunately changing the values in that .cfg file seems to do nothing.  I even changed the values, recorded the audio on fraps, changed again, fraps'd, etc, and then listened to the fraps recordings back to back to make sure I wasn't fooling myself.  I'm guessing that is now a legacy file, no longer used.

Something for the "advanced user only" would be useful, even if you can't implement it right away, HTC.

Yep that seems to cover the main problems I have heard people having in game.

I think we need loud flap and stall sounds to compensate for lack of seat of the pants feedback.
