WoW!!!  :O 90mm?? Even if a superior tank WERE to be put into the game to trump the Tiger, then what would stop you from having the same problem with this new tank?? It would become the new Tiger.

I'm sorry, but I can't tell if your being sarcastic or not. In case you aren't: You do know that armor penetration comes from not just cannon caliber, but muzzle velocity? The larger caliber the round, the more mass it has. But that mass is uselss without sufficient speed. Just as a 1gram projectile going at 3500ft per second would be useless as well. Kenetic energy= 1/2 M*V^2, so as the projectile slows down, mass helps maintain kenetic energy.

You do realize the Tiger was a totally useless tank right? I mean the production nightmares were self defeating problems that could have been avoided and probably cost more German lives than a more useful tank would have.

Fortunate for the Allies I suppose but of course in AH you get (seemingly) an endless supply.

There is alot more to achieving penetration than just that equation. Looks good in theory though.

lol i noticed in hanger that the M8 has a higher muzzle velocity then both M4's totally off topic srry

Three factors to take into consideration when debating AP rounds.

Mass, velocity, and projectile design.

A 5lb cannon ball moving at 3000 fps will not penetrate as well as a typical spire pointed AP round of the same weight and velocity.

No it won't, but thats because the force of impact is dispersed over a larger area. However, I don't think cannonballs were used to just simply punch holes in the wooden hull of an enemy's ship. Although I don't know how long after the civil war pointed projectiles replaced the round cannon balls. I would guess some time in the mid 1870's or early 1880's.
