F1 Camel's wonky wings
« on: September 25, 2010, 10:41:26 PM »
Can anyone point me to a decent resource for the F1 camel? Have read a good few books on DR1 but can't seem to dig up anything substantial on the camel. Also was the camel's wings really that fragle in RL? I can't even remember the camel twisting its wings off as easy in game before as it does now??  :salute

Hi perv, I fly the Camel pretty much exclusively and haven't noticed any changes. However, I have had significant problems with stick setup. May I suggest a little bit of tweaking in the AH stick setup menu, perhaps some reduction in the scaling and a tad more damping. Bearing in mind there's always a compromise between moving the thing around rapidly enough for ACM while still having a steady gun platform and not tearing chunks off it in the high speed/hi G manoeuvres. It depends on who I'm fighting, but sometimes I get unusually oversensitive stick syndrome once engaged, and it's all I can do to avoid a stall let alone turn or climb. Fokker bait. Probably only affects people flying in Australia, I think we have a couple of tin cans and some string across the Pacific to you guys, and an old drunk in a shed on the beach shouting binary code between swigs from a bottle of Bundy rum.

Anyway set it up offline, go way too sluggish at first then work back up 'till you're happy with it. In particular the damper does wonders for sudden cracks and tears in the canvas.

Hope that helps  :salute
