FSO: A Mindanao Sunset - FR2 Preliminary Results
« on: August 07, 2010, 11:20:39 AM »
Gentlemen & Ladies,

Here are the preliminary frame 2 results. I have not finished looking for violations so this might change a bit but should give you a rough picture of the frame.

United States
1250 = Air Victories
-  20 = Friendly Fire deaths
1206 = Bombing from destroying enemy targets (70.7% enemy targets destroyed)
0303 = Defense, from undamaged parts of their bases

TOTAL = 2739

Japanese
0900 = Air Victories
-  40 = Friendly Fire deaths
1421 = Bombing from destroying enemy targets (82.4% enemy targets destroyed)
0500 = Defense, from undamaged parts of their bases

TOTAL = 2781

General Comments
Well as you can see having actual multi engine bomber aircraft drastically increased the bombing results for both sides. The main work horse for the Japanese the Ju88 standing in for the Betty and for the U.S. the B25C along with 10 B17s. This time though the Japanese won the bombing war destroying 82.4% of their targets to the U.S. 70.7% destruction rate.

But they paid a heavy price for this Bomb Damage rate losing significant amount of Ju88s. Coupled with killing less american planes the U.S. won the air war overall 1250 to 900.

Again the frame is basically a tie with the Japanese at 2781 and the U.S. 2739, Japan up this frame by 42 points.

TOTALS FRAME 1 & 2
5068 = US
5002 = Japan

U.S. up by 66 points.

Nice work ghostdancer, as I said in email, your attention to detail in this scenario has been superb. :salute

I'm glad Frame 2 turned out well for Axis. I had to write up those orders as good as I could last minute and was unable to attend.  That makes me feel good that it ran well and all the bombs got where they needed to.   :lol Nice job Axis.

So, how do we get involved? I'm sure my squaddies in TWC would love to do this campaign style fighting...  used to do it all the time in FA.

Airborne:

  The sign up rules are pretty tight for this event and you have to be in a squad prior to the event.  No walk on means your guys can't just come in 5 minutes prior and expect to fly.  And the rules for this are explained in the attachment above.  It all has to be coordinated well in advance.

  I recommend the following to get your guys in quickly (Next Friday night) and experience wheather or not this is for your squad or not.  Contact any of the squads that you would like to fly with by posting a "New Thread" and ask for space for your squad.  All squads have Min and Max numbers they have to keep.  But most could take between 3-6 guys pretty easily.  I know in my squad the 325th VFG could take at least 3 guys and maybe as many as 6.

  Additionally "teaming" with another squad for 1-2 FSO scenario's (about 2 months) with another experienced squad is something you should consider.  This allows your squad to all fight together "teamed" with another squad.  The 325th VFG does this now with the "Ironhorsemen" and it works very well.  This way you have time to learn the rules and gain experience before jumping into this as an independent squad.  Also you have no administrative requirements as the "hosting" squad would take care of all of that.  A win, win for both squads really.  You get to fly hassle free and learn the FSO and the other squad doubles its numbers for this event.  And like it or not in the FSO larger squads fair better in the fights..... generally.

 Welcome to the FSO.

I read the info, I don't think I could attend... I am not sure I could be there because of where I am stationed and the "unknowns" of my position and the cycles we are in... but thanks for the info, maybe one day I can get into this, sounds like a lot of fun.

Another way to get in is to hook up with an established FSO squad.  Start flying and training with them in the MA's, and let them know you want to be in FSO when you can.  Just make sure you do all of the legwork ahead of time.  FSO has a "No Walk On" policy.. meaning you cant just show up on Friday night as ask to join a squad minutes before the frame starts.  But there are several FSO squads that are made up of players from more than one MA squad.

Doing it this way, will allow you to fly when your schedule allows... without having to commit to setting up a permanent FSO squad.

FSO is by far one of the best parts of playing AH... hope you can be a part of it too.  :salute
