Civil Justice at its best...
« on: August 09, 2010, 12:22:29 PM »

A group of drunks decided it would be funny to vandalize and harass some passing cars. Unlucky for them one of the drivers had other plans than to just drive away...and unlucky for them batting practice was in session  :devil

*No gore/blood

*Some language

EDIT: Probably better not to post the link. Go to liveleak.com and in the featured section down the front page a video is labeled "drunk thugs taught a lesson."

Ah yes.  More of this stuff needs to happen.

A bit of Iowa history for ya...  my great great grandfather was sheriff in Floyd County (Charles City) during WWI.  There was a man who murdered 7 people, all members of his family.  He was promptly arrested by my great great grandfather and thrown in jail.  However, a large crowd had gathered outside the jail house raising hell over the ordeal because evidently a deputy arrested this guy prior to the lynch mob getting a hold of him (evidently this guy had been real bad but had never gotten caught).  Rumor has it the keys to the jail cell were left available and the crowd got the guy out of jail, took him to the bridge that went over the Ceder River there in Charles City, threw a rope around his neck and toss him over the bridge.  That is the last known "legal" lynching in the state of Iowa.  There is even a historical plaque on the bridge where it happened.

Now ya know... some useless stuff about Iowa.   :)

As much as I like seeing people like that being put in their place, the guy weilding the bat could've gotten in some serious trouble.  I guy I knew in Oskaloosa, IA was playing basketball one afternoon when some punk walked up and cracked him in the head with a bat.  The guy that got hit had half of his face bones shattered and required many months of surgeries and therapy to even come close to having a normal life again.  The kid that hit him was charged with willful injury and got like 10 years for it.

Granted, those guys were asking for it but the guy that stopped his car, got out, confronted the punks and played whack-a-mole with their heads could've easily driven away and reported it to the cops.  If the punks that started the thing got his plate # and reported him for said game of whack-a-mole I betcha he would've faced charges.

That took Bowling balls to get out against like 7 drunks even with a bat...First guy he hit sounded like a home run I couldnt believe he was still standing.

But you saw what happened once he lost the bat they were mad enough to outright kill him.

He was smart to keep the car running or he prolly would have been beaten to death with his own bat.

I dont think they would remember anything that happned that whole day.

edit: In the great state of Texas the guy in the car would have been carrying a gun. That would be 7 less thugs in the population of the US

I would have never done this myself in fear of physical and legal retribution, or advice others to, but it was epically satisfying seeing it happen.

For the guys who can not find this on liveleak it is also posted on youtube.

I would love to find this man, shake his hand, and buy him a new bat with some batting gloves so that next time it wont slip out of his hands.

Watch the video again.  One of the guys there was trying to get the cars to drive away.  Im sure one out of 7 could get a plate number.

Realistically, it's stupid to stop and pop some idiot with a baseball bat.

You have a late model car which probably has full coverage...  Why worry about a dent when your actions to retaliate could put you in jail?
If that driver wasn't looking for trouble, he would've just taken a left and went about his day (after reporting the incident to police).

All of em in that video were idiots.  Including the cameraman.

actually, had he held the bat correctly, he'd have never lost it. he should've been aiming for mid-section too......biffer target, and more stuff to damage.

This makes me smile! Honestly, when thugs start playing like that, the cops don't react swiftly or strongly enough. These punks won't give a flying **** if they land in jail for a couple weeks, and might actually take pride in the story. However, rearrange their cheek-bones like that, and they aren't likely to repeat the behavior.

I thought you just wanted to put him in pain, not cause serious damage?
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?
Apparently I'm in the 20th FG 'Loco Busters', or so the legend goes.

nicee to always keep a bat on ya.
interesting how some people can die from a slip and fall and others can take a bat to the face.

at that point, he's your enemy. you do not survive an engagement like that by merely causing pain. adrenaline is a wonderful thing, and often will allow one to continue through pain.

not many will continue to come after ya with broken ribs or broken legs.
