I enjoy watching meteor showers, just thought some of you other guys might too.

Been up all night here, it's now 04:00 and dawn has swamped everything but venus. Was out between midnight and 03:00 and saw some great ones. the light polution round here is bad even 5 miles out into the fields. Still pretty awesome.

Each meteor (or "pinger") ionizes the ionisphere at extremely high altitudes at the path at which it burns up.  Ham radio operators use this temporary ionization to make very fast voice, digital modes, and morse code contacts at 28-29.7, 50, and 144 MHz at distances much further than having no other form of propagation.  Ya gotta work FAST though---you may only have 20 to 40 seconds depending on the frequency.

Thank you meteor showers!
