I went with skuzzy's advice recently, and bought the NEC FP-950.

It's a great monitor with a great picture.

Hmm... well after this last monitor debacle, I think I need to buy the best I can afford.  After all, the monitor is the part of the computer you look at all the time... it may as well be the best part of your computer!

The NEC FP955 looks nice, and I've got a tax refund to spend...  

You say it's got a Sony tube?  Does it have the two horizontal lines like all Trinitrons?

I've got an FP950 too, and while the picture's very good, it's going back for defects.

It does have the horizontal lines, same as all aperture grille monitors.
