Up Saturday in AvA: Battlefield Europe
« on: August 20, 2010, 11:46:09 AM »

This will be a multi map campaign that will run for two weeks.

Map rotation will be player determined by meeting simple victory conditions.

Winning side determines next frame.

Maps used will be bob09, Arden08s, Rhinewin and Germany.

It begins on Arden08s terrain.

No registration required.

Objectives: Capture and hold of territory.

V-bases=1 pt  Airbases=2pt.
Side holding most points at the deadline will win the battle.

Allies (Rooks) can achieve full victory by pushing through Belgium, Crossing the Rhine and launching a successful assault on the German homeland.

Axis (Knights) can achieve full victory by pushing the Allies out of Belgium, out of France and launching a successful invasion of England.

Frame one objectives tallied on Monday midnight cst

Winners announced and campaign updated the following morning.

Frame one:

Arden08s

A turn for the worse:

After a successful landing and breakout, the Allies rapid advance has stalled in Belgium.

Stiffening resistance from Luftwaffe and Wermacht units mistakenly thought to be fighting in Russia, indicate that forces from the Eastern Front have been recalled to fight in the west.

The Russian Army's advance seems to have slowed to a crawl, failing to take advantage of the German redeployment.

Mammoth waves of V-2 rocket attacks have stunned Great Britain in their sheer volume and effectiveness, and indicate that Allied bombing has been far less effective than thought.

Increased Kriegsmarine activity has led to new invasion fears and prompted a recall of much of Britains expeditionary force to homeland defense.

As a nervous world ponders what Stalin may be up to, the US stands alone in Western Europe.

Custom Settings:

Maps will only use a small area and unused bases will be set to neutral country.

Neutral bases are not approved targets and capture of such will be -1pt penalty toward battle victory.

Capture: 10 troops.

Arena will be locked between the hours of Midnight cst and 1:00pm cst.

NOE radar settings will be at 200 ft.

Main arena auto level bombing calibration will be enabled.

No enemy Icons

Friendly Icons 2.4k

Arden08s map only: Due to the close proximity of bases, warning range (flashing) is reduced to 10000, otherwise you will flash bases while still on your own runway.

All other AvA standards apply.

Starts today!

This one emphasises territory capture and has an noe radar height of 200 instead of MA's 65. Still more of a challenge than it used to be, but a bit more possible.

Jimson-  I checked in a couple of times today around 1430-1515 CDT and it appeared that nothing was enabled on the AXIS(knights) side.   :headscratch:

My apologies guys.

Something seemed to get corrupted during the initial install of the set up.

Even though I checked it and thought everything was OK, something happened.

I reloaded everything and all seems well now, so we will start over.

Again, Sorry about that.
