Kinda hard to believe thae story of the Italian in the captured P-38 tailin' then killin wounded buffs, sounds like a good action film could be made of the event tho.

I also recommend "Black Thursday" by Caidin ... the B-17 raids on the ball-bearing factories in Schweinfurt. The air-combat is brutal. This one stays with ya for a while....

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

Cadin's been one of my favorites for over 20 years. You will find P-38 critics who cite Cadin as being an apologist for the plane (particularly its 8th AF shortcomings). However, I've found his reasoning to make sense and to jibe with other sources.
