RAAF 453 Squadron.
« on: August 04, 2010, 01:06:40 AM »
A book I ordered arrived today on this unit & I thought I would throw a couple of Spit skins up for any one who wants them.

Since we don't have any RAAF spit IX's or spit XVI's in game I thought they might interest some one. I know who ever does decide to do them will make a lot of Aussies in game very happy :D

I have other profiles & pictures of spit V's as well as IX's & XVI's these looked to be the best choice & we already have a RAAF spit V in game & one in waiting thanks Jocko.

In fact both of these planes were flown by this guy.

Also threw in a couple of Brewster's from the same squadron that I thought looked interesting.

Good Pics Lyric and RAAF IXs and XVIs would make for some very happy campers.

Is that Brewster patch a boxing kangaroo? Looks like the 1980's one was a copy of an earlier version.

Cheers.

Brilliant.

You have to admire these guys from this little country fighting way above their weight division.

Even the motto which I think means "it's as good as done" - See I knew seven years of Latin would come in handy one day.

Either that or something about throwing a net over the gladiator - should have paid more attention perhaps.

interesting, looks like the IX is actually a VC conversion. has the XVI got MkV hispanos fitted? they look a fair bit shorter :headscratch:

Don't know much on Spitfire variants. May need one of our resident experts to chime in.
