On the topic of the manoever, I only use it in select situations (I need to take some notes on how well you used it in that vid) such as when I'm slowly losing a rolling scissors. Not only does it spoil any shot, it allows you to regain almost equality in the fight. If you have some air under you can gain lost E back and be right back in the fight. It's saved my pony's tail, pun obviously intended, plenty of times.
As a rule of thumb, I use it during the scissors/turn fight only when our separation starts to increase (we are the closest together) and as last resort/or for fun
. If done too soon or too late, you become a sitting duck no matter how well you perform it. Sometimes, the E loss is so great, that it catches your con off balance and collides with you. The pony is indeed one of the very few rides that can do this fairly well, and hearing that from you is no joke.
