Our opinions differ, but learn to appreciate the scores of spin-offs as well! Vector Prime, Rebel Dawn, Ambush at Correllia, Splinter of the Mind's Eye; all great books.

FAIL.
New Jedi Order was an absolute MESS and it, and everything that came after, should never have happened (I mean seriously, Jacen as a Sith Lord? Daala being elected president? WTF?). Corellian Trilogy was ok, but there were FAR better books in the Bantam run.
Only books that were really worth reading:
The Thrawn Trilogy (Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, Last Command)
The X-wing Novels (Stackpole really nailed the feel of the film's space battles, and the "
Redemption Scenario" at the beginning was a great reference to the games. I LOVED Allston's sense of humor. The Ewok pilot running gag had me in stitches)
I, Jedi
The Hand of Thrawn (Specter of the Past, Vision of the Future)
Lucas should have hired Timothy Zahn to write the Prequel Trilogy. It would have been AWESOME.
