If I have my count right we're at 43 players (maybe 44 if Ink gets back in time).  With just over a week to go we need at least another 20 players to fill a 64 man bracket. 

Where's all those "it's all about the fight" guys?  if ever it was all about the fight this is it. 

The time it takes to arrange and fight your duels is about 20 minutes a week as long as you'r still in the tourney and scheduling is flexible.  Most go off without a hitch.

For the better pilots it's a challenge to go 6-7 rounds flying all types of aircraft against increasingly difficult competition. 

For those less skilled it's a valuable chance to work on ACM, to fly planes you might not normally fly and to meet new people.  Ask the person your flying against to go a few extra rounds for fun.  Film and ask for pointers.  Go back to work and come back next time to see what you've learned.  This is a much better way to measure improvement in the game than watching your score or rank.

If we don't get to 64 players I may consider reducing future tourney frequency beginning with number seven to semi-annually (summer and winter editions).  We'll see how it goes.

Where's all those "it's all about the fight" guys?  if ever it was all about the fight this is it.

I will be sitting this one out though, just a little too busy to commit.

I know it's been brought up before and I've resisted but would creating a seeding system encourage less experienced pilots to join?  It would create a lot more work for me but the idea would be to pit the pilots who have played in and advanced furthest though past tourney's against each other early and similarliy pit those who have never participated and those who have lost early against each other.

The downside is a lot of good pilots get eliminated early.  The upside is less experienced players potentially get to advance further.

Either way the match-ups should be at least somewhat closer.

Another idea related to this would be to have the upper seeds fight best of fives instead of best of threes to add to the challenge.

Meh, I've never seen a tournament bracket set up like that before.  Usually it's set up the 1 seeds play the worst seeds, but obviously that is no good for this.  I think random matchups are the best.

I think the random factor works well for this type of event.  And it doesn't seem to be broken so why fix it?

+1 for keeping it random, it's kind of nice meeting a new guy every week that you've never fought before.  A lot of the people that have made it to the QF and beyond are people that fight each other regularly in the DA anyway

Hardly any additions since the last update.  This might end up being the smallest tournament yet.  We're up to 44 and I'd like to see a bracket filled so we need 20 more with a week to go.  I doubt we'll get there.
