 hi,
Llama just posted benchmarks for the V5 5500 at frdim's WB benchmark site. In hi res and 4xFSAA it got 32 fps on a 550mhz cpu.
This is disappointing performance. I don't know id this can be correlated somehow with AH peformance, but i would be curious to find out how it does in AH.
The card may only need a bit of optimisation, guys with new nVidia cards are always coming to alt.games.warbirds looking for tips to get them to perform well. But i can't afford to take that chance.
3dfx is working on a DDR V5, which could
provide the same kick in the butt it did for the geF cards. Speaking of geF2; a 64 meg version is due next month, which should improve 32 bit performance considerably.

actually 32fps whith anti aliasing on is pretty damn good right now. I think down the road when anti aliasing is fined tune you will see something in the 40-50 range.

Had Creative dedanator (sp?) was getting 30-40 fps... installed new ref drivers and went up to 70+fps.... same will be true for 3dfx once drivers get tweaked.....

 hi,
thank you for the replies. The order is cancelled, and i am going to give the situation a couple of weeks. But you are probably right, it should be fine.
