Question re: graphics support, 3D/Software...
« on: December 22, 1999, 05:51:00 PM »
Hello all.

A friend of mine from various games such as Raider Wars, Warbirds, and other things, pointed me towards this webpage. I must say it looks good. However, I've hit a snag.

I don't have 3D. Never have. Most likely won't for a while. You can imagine what most of my games look like (and run like) in 2D software mode. I've grown accustomed to it, for the most part, but was wondering about something.

Will AH be a 3D only game? Will there be software coding in the future? Perhaps after the beta? That would be pretty helpful for us HPBs that don't have 3D.

Anyways, no harm in asking, other than the fear of what answer might come

Sorry with the cost of 3d boards today it's just not worth the devolpment time to do a software only version.

I see *sigh*

Well, 3D cards around here are pretty expensive. An old Voodoo1 (the first voodoo) is something on the order of 90-100 dollars (that's US, btw). I just can't afford that. If I could afford it, I'd get a better processor first! > Then, I'd get a better than Rockwell-made modem (shudder).

Then I'd get 3D.

But, oh well...
