Actually, the idea of both the Hs293 & the "Cherry Blossom" as perked ords is interesting and would be great perked ords since they would be standoff weapons.  Say a max range of 10miles, thus u still gotta enter a DAR ring to hit a base/town/strat/HQ, aim it like the auto-aim for 8" guns and fire away.  The "cherry bomb" could be maneuvered, limitedly, from the bombardier position with POV being that of the actual weapon & not the Betty; the Hs293 is a fire-and-forget sort.

The Fritz and Hs293 are not fire n forget weapons.
The pilot has to fly level and straight so the bombadier can guide those weapons.

The betty bomber with oka (or whatever is called) is fire and forget

ahhhhh stop talking about the Ohka right now!!!! it gets worse and worse everytime, you dont fire the ohka, and it is not fire and forget, once the Ohka is released the pilot would glide the ohka to within x amount of miles to the target, then electrically start its rocket engine, and procede to attempt to ram the biggest ship he could see

From the perspective of the G4M crew, that is fire and forget.

The Ohka was basically a crude, cruise missile that made up for the lack of technology by using a human as a guidance computer.

The only, even remotely viable, method I can see to add such a thing would be thus:

The G4M pilot pays no perks and loses none should he be shot down.  The Ohka pilot pays the perks and the only way to get the perk price refunded would be if the G4M pilot lands with the Ohka still attached.  If the Ohka pilot dies, he loses the perks, which means if he is successful, he loses the perks.

Yes, it does make your perks vulnerable to a G4M pilot who decides to grief you.

The ideas behind my suggestions is so that two pile-its are not required for the weapons.  In the case of the Okha, I stand by my concept; as for the Hs293, I confused it with the Mistel  :o , so I amend that suggestion to reflect the Mistel employment.  As for the Hs293 (and FritzX), a variation of the manual bombing method would suffice for guiding it to the target.

dude i mentioned earlier that u need to INVITE A PLAYER to pilot the oka

here's how the scenario is gonna look like...

- i fly a betty bomber
- you're inside the oka rocket bomb
- i have the control to release the oka, but we have to mutually agree on a target first (a CV or 8 inch gun for example)
- we're 15-20 miles away from the target, Ii release the oka rocket bomb with you strapped in.
- you go one-way, i return to base

Mission accomplished :aok

edit:  oka rocket bomb has range of 23 miles

of course, that all makes sence now, how foolish of me to not see how good of an idea that was from the start

It is not a bad idea as karnak presents it . The Cherry Blossom should be extremely highly perked . It would give a solution  to the "man those guys in the 5 inch can shot" problem . Perked ordinance looks like a good idea . I would bet anything the ineffectiveness of the Cherry Blossom had alot more to do with pilot skill then design or operational defects . The fritz X should be guided just like it was in reality . They used a joystick and it had a smoke flare to aid in visibility if I   am not mistaken . Some very high priced stand off ords would be great imho .

Actually, the biggest problem they had with the Ohka was just getting it close enough to the fight, most of them were lost while still in transport via betty, and also 50 were lost when a ship carrying them was sunk

A way to solve griefing with the cherry blossom would be a "safety switch" for the rocket pilot. The betty pilot can't release the rocket without the second pilot flipping the safety off.
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.
