In all seriousness though, to avoid having more than a couple assists per month all you need to do is not gangbang, and shoot better.

Yep, that's why you'll see some guys with 395 kills and only 43 assists.

I agree but he is still up and possibly on his way to landing and re guardless how much damage if the plane gets shot down it still an assist or kill. How the system decides who gets the kill or assist is something I have no knowledge about. We all have receive a proxy and assist just part of it but if I have 6 kills and was in on 2 assist It would just add to the my recognition when I land which is the goal of the sortie.
kills are dealt to the pilot who has delivered the most damage to the enemy aircraft. assists are the runner ups :aok

i'd think that if you had 6 kills, it'd still be worth the recognition no matter if you landed two assists also... And also, that aircraft, if damaged, is out of the fight no matter if he lands or not. Therefore you did your job of getting one more enemy out of the skies. Did you know that if you let them take the time to land, it will delay their time in responding in a fresh aircraft to you again? Maybe its better to let them land sometimes if you know it will endanger the mission or the objective. :aok

Who cares about the kill recognition when you know your limits and possibilities in combat? You start shooting down a crapload of enemies and i assure you, even if you don't land, they'll still know your name and respect your piloting and maybe even sometimes fear you and your plane... :airplane:

Yeah reputation is better than score.  There's some awesome player who never rank low but as soon as you engage you will know who that pilot is based on how the plane is flown.

I check my score the last day of every month, to see how I ended up.  it means nothing and if you pay too much attention to it you'll be no fun to fly with  :salute
