If you check the ports, we have Submarines. :noid

Honestly though, it is something that we are not likely to see ANY time soon.  However, it sounds like there will be an effort to put them in eventually.  Makes me curious to how it will all look and play out...  Enigma: Rising Tide look and feel, with much better battle damage system in place?

Wow I find it hard to believe it has been almost 38 days since our last path. We should have release another 38 versions by now  :bhead

IF subs are ever put in the game, I have to wonder how long it would be until we were given Depth Charges as part of the ords?  :headscratch:

WWII Subs were not part of a WWII task force groups because they were just to slow.  They operated independently as a continues blockade of shipping routes or in intelligence operations.
They spent most of their time on the surface getting to their area of operation.  Even surfaced their top speed was around 20K .  The CV fleets depicted in AH are moving at 25 MPH = 28knots

First is the whole water problem.
Not sure that is really a problem.  Isn’t depth really just inverted altitude?
second is the time issue, bad enough with GV's that move at 20+ mph.
Sub's submerged moved at 4 - 6 mph.
Spawn points help with GV’s they could help with Subs.
Third is the fun one, how the heck do you model sonar?
And yes it has to be modeled on both sides in order to have an effective sub.
How the heck did they model radar? On all three sides.

Boxed games use time compression for #2, canned response's for #3.
Neither of which will work well for AH.
I agree, but WWII Subs were not part of a WWII task force groups because they were just to slow.  They operated independently as a continues blockade of shipping routes or in intelligence operations.
They spent most of their time on the surface getting to their area of operation.  Even surfaced their top speed was around 20K .
No one is saying you have to drive a Sub, not unless you want to, but I do feel that technical reasons related to code development for not adding subs is not  a valid reason  for not having them.  After all , that’s the business that AH is in and they do  a top notch job at it.
I could be wrong, but as I see it those are just the first 3 biggest problems.
Then you have to somehow model a periscope, slow down the Task groups, deal with refueling, rearming issues. (or the task group can run at 40 knots endlessly)
I agree you are wrong .  I also see many more issues, but I do think that is what Aces High does.  I don’t see the need to slow down the task groups.  Subs would not be part of a task group.  .  Even surfaced their top speed was around 20K .  The CV fleets depicted in AH are moving at 25 MPH = 28knots
Its a big job, and I suspect HT has a limited amount of time to "play" with it.
Yes it is a big job and would be approached as any other IT project that Aces High engages in. That is their business,  what else would they be doing?  Perhaps there are a number of potential customers out there that would enjoy playing real time, slow, sub warfare .  The strat game could be altered to provide the targets cargo ships , Convoys  with escorts,   Troops ships,  real ports connected by rail to factories , more targets for bombers, more bomber escorts, more fighter intercept missions and so on.  All sounds good to me.
