Saitek X-36 USB and Analog CH Pedal Help
« on: June 12, 2000, 09:54:00 PM »
Hi all,
After reading the X-36 opinion thread, I went out a bought the set.  First off, I really like the feel of this set.

Now for the computer dummy part of me...

I downloaded the latest drivers from Saitek...its actually 1.4 now, posted on 6-12-00.  Then I hooked up the X-36 combo to the USB.  So far everything is great.  The combo works like a dream.

Now the hard part for me.  Since I have a set of analog CH Pedals (not Pro) I want to use them too.  So I followed RangerBob's advice in the other thread, and plugged in my pedals to my gameport.  For the live of me, I can't get the windows game controller window to recognize the pedals no matter what joystick choice I pick.  The system sees the X-36 USB great.

I really need some help and advice on this...

Here is my system specs:
Acer System
PII 350
128 meg RAM
Voodoo3 2000 vid card
AOpen soundcard (pretty generic really) I have never had a problem throwing any joystick at this gamecard.
2 USB slots.

Like I said, the combo works great so I know the my DirectX 7.0a and Windows98 version is up to speed.  Its just getting my system to see the Analog CH Pedals.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Cobra

Sorry 1776 but I think this is more a windows problem than his X-36 stick .

Hey Cobra , so you got hooked . reaper loves his too but wants peds too now .

Ok the stick should be three axis plus you should check the box rudder/pedals .

It should be the second joystick you add .

General tab , add the second joystick .

Now you don't have a button to click so this should help .

JOYREGS.ZIP

Also included is a small utility, JoyClick, that lets you simulate a button-click in the Control Panel calibration routines for devices that have no buttons (a lone set of rudder pedals, for instance).

Now I have a analog stick that I uesd to do mine . Just set it off to the side and don't use it . eBay has them damned cheap if you can't do it any other way .

What happened to the other Hotta's that you were using ?

I hope you get them going .

cheers spro

Hey thanks 1776 and Airpro!

I got it up and running...I used my old setup hooked up to my rudders to get windows to see it.  Then just did the routine u listed below spro...The Saitek works Great!

Now my analog rudders have USB envy, so you know what that means...hehe...soon I'll have to breakdown and get the CH Pro USB pedals.

I wanted to wait for the Suncom USB since I have the SFS in analog, but I really like the feel of this Saitek unit better.  I'm glad I bought the Saitek combo.

Thanks again for the help guys  <S>!
