Just was wondering why my frame rate when going from hngr or tower to runway & taking off was so much lower than when I get up in the air?
Recently upgraded from 4mb POS vid card that came with my celery 466 to a voodoo3 2000 16mb & the improvement was massive (now flying thru or near smoke is no longer the slow slide show of my impending death, but instead a smooth slick film of, well, my impending death lol). But taking off is still giving me something like 8 to 12 FPS.
Not that it really bugs me that much, or reduces gameplay, but I'm interested in why it happens.
