problem with X36

Salute Aces,

I just got myself a Saitek X36 Combo USB. I am really amazed by its looks, feel and functionality.

I only got ONE problem!! Something very similar to the 'sticky key' problem as I read on several pages.

I tried to assign "trim-auto-angle" (shift&X) to the second coolie hat on the stick. But first of all it does not work in the game (all other keys work correct) and it seems like "shift" is stuck. Normal keyboard inputs do not work anymore... I have to press ESC several times or press shift several times to unlock it. When I exit the game I have lot of weird things happening: several icons highlight, windows pops up etc...  I did not assign any cyclic order only simple activator!!!

Is this the sticky thing phenomenon? I did a clean install of SGE1.4 never installed 1.3...  any advice?

Got a USB ISDN device and USB mouse attached...  stick works fine as long as I dont assign any shift, ctrl or alt commandos...

system specs:
PIII500/128MB
GeForce256
SoundblasterLive!
Windows98

Ok, just like my other problem I managed to get around it. I set all shift/ctrl/alt functions to directx buttons which AH allows to set freely!! (wtg HTC!!) So got all keys set on my stick...

Kerin i was told by my DSL provider to remove my mouse from the USB port if i was using a USB dsl modem,,, it will slow down the modem to mouse speed,,,, just passing the info along, if wrong or right.

Kirin;
It's been a few days and if you're anything like me you've probably given up on winging it and have decided to RTFM, LOL  Story on those non usable button hats etc. as I found out is that you've got to first set up a command and then bring it into your profile.  Check out http://www.combatsim.com/htm/feb00/saiteksge-1.htm  for a great article on programming the X36  I'll have to read it again cause I tried my first program tonight and it doesn't work, LOL.

I'm not sure about the specific problem you seem to be having, but if you would like to use my updated Saitek Aces High Profile it's now available on the downloads page as a courtesy of Pyro.

I experimented for quite some time with the set up and placement of commands for ease of use and to avoid hitting the wrong key at the wrong time and losing control in a fight.

Give it a try if you like.
