No link for this one folks...this hits close to home...
My girlfriends grandfather passed away last week, he was a WWII veteran that served his country in 1944. He was sent home in mid 44' due to being hit by a German Train while on the tracks. He told us that since it was midnight and the trains kept all of their lights off he did not see the train and got hit. Well at the funeral we were told otherwise by his brothers...
Apparently earlier that day he was messing around with some nurses and decided to leave with them inside of his jeep into the night for more...fun... Anyways on their way back he parked the jeep on the tracks and did not hear or see the train because of the "fog" that filled the jeep...
But more than what he did in WWII was who he was, the coolest grandfather ever. Laid back and smart, funny and an all around American.
