saitek x-52
« on: September 26, 2010, 11:57:50 PM »
I was thinking about getting the Saitek x52. I know the stick is a throw away, and lasts about a year or so depending on use but I was wondering how durable the throttle was. I was thinking before I went all out and bought a CH set that I could use the Saitek throttle with the CH FlightStick down the road. Is this possible? or does the throttle last about as long as the joystick?

I had my x52 for about 3 years, finally gave it away, since it wouldnt break down like everyboy said it would.  kept the throttle and got me the ch fighterstick and saitek pedals.  but to be honest I was happier with the x52 set up.  main thing about the ch stick is that you gotta modify it if you dont have big hands.

My Stick and Throttle are around 5 years old, still work like new.

I've been using an X-52 for at least 3-4 years now. No problems. Only thing I ever did to it was I had to "tweak" the connector that goes between the throttle and joystick a little bit to make it a tighter fit. Other than that, no real issues.

I really like the layout. Only thing I wish they'd have done is kept the X-45's Rocker rudder instead of twisty stick. I hate twisty stick and not entirely sure I could get used to pedals (nor find cheap ones... though I could be mistaken).

love my x52, replaced once in 4 years due to one night being heavily intoxicated, but the throttle did survive the crash. I love the button layout and twist stick. If i ever had to replace it i might go with the x65-F but it would be a very tough choice between it and the x52.

Been using my X-52 for about a year and a half or so.  I do use the provided software, which I had to update through Saitek. No biggie.  I love being able to 'trip the wire' to enable weps.

Mine was refurbished and lasted just over a year, guess thats what yah get for 39.00 refurbished. The thing I don't like is, a person can'tr get repair parts. I could fix my old one, needs a new hat swith and would be like new.
